Product Training - General Information


Who Can Attend and What is the Cost for Training?

Ariel product training is available exclusively for Ariel customers and their employees--Ariel Distributors, Ariel Packagers, and Ariel End Users. Ariel Corporation does not charge a fee for training held at our manufacturing facility in Mount Vernon, Ohio. Training is available to customers who own, lease and service Ariel equipment. Students and their employer are responsible for all expenses incurred and arrangements for transportation, rental car, hotels and meals. Please note guidelines for student clothing and footwear, listed below.

Ohio's law prohibits smoking tobacco in public places, including places of employment. Smoking is not allowed on Ariel Corporation's property, which includes company parking lots (regardless of whether you are in a personal vehicle), "recreational" areas (such as grassy areas) walkways and such. No smoking of any tobacco product is allowed on Ariel property at any time.

Registration

Registrations are accepted for open sessions on a first-come basis to qualfied students. To enroll, complete the online registration form prior to the course start date. Registrations are accepted when seating is available. A confirmation of enrollment will be sent via e-mail to the contact person whose e-mail address is listed on the reigstration form. In addition, a follow-up e-mail will be sent to you two weeks prior to the start of the course, with a final confirmation with course details, student needs and requirements, driving instructions and maps.

Cancellations and "Waiting List" Requests

Registered, but need to cancel? We respectfully request that you notify our training department as soon as possible, or at least five business days prior to the course. If a course is closed that you wish to attend, you may request to be put on a "waiting list" and should an opening occur, we will contact you. Travel Information - to Mount Vernon; Arrival and Departure

Mount Vernon is located approximately 50 miles northeast of Columbus, Ohio. Ariel Corporation is located approximately 3 miles south of Mount Vernon, off State Route 661. Ariel Corporation does not provide shuttle service from the airport to Mount Vernon, Students are responsible for all accomodations and costs for travel, rental car, meals, and lodging. Plan to arrive at your hotel on the day before the course begins. We suggest that flight arrivals and departures be made at Port Columbus International airport (CMH), Columbus. Ohio.

Travel Arrival and Flight Departure Suggestions:

Basic Product Training and Spanish Basic Product Training students should plan to arrive on Sunday and departure flights no earlier than 7:30 pm on Thursday. We suggest departure flights be made for early Friday morning (and hotel arrangements made at a hotel at the airport for Thursday night). The Basic course runs Monday - Thursday 8 am - 5 pm.

Compressor Mechanics School and Spanish Compressor Mechanics School students should plan to arrive on Sunday and departure flights no earlier than 2:30 pm on Friday. These schools runs Monday - Thursday 8 am - 5 pm and Friday 8 am - 11 am. 

Technical School students should plan to arrive on Sunday and departure flights no earlier than 2:30 pm on Friday. This school runs Monday - Thursday 8 am - 5 pm; and Friday 8 am - 12:Noon. 

Rotary Mechanics School students should plan to arrive on Sunday and departure flights no earlier than 7:30 pm on Thursday. This school runs Monday - Thursday 8 am - 5 pm. We suggest departure flights be made for early Friday morning (and hotel arrangements made at a hotel at the airport for Thursday night).

Parts Distributing School students should plan to arrive on Monday and departure flights no earlier than 4:00 pm on Friday. This course runs Tuesday - Thursday 8 am - 5 pm and Friday 8 am to 1:30 pm. 

Process Compressor Basics students should plan to arrive on Monday and departure flights no earlier than 2:30 pm on Thursday. The Process Compressor course runs Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 8 am - 5 pm; and Friday 8 am - 12 noon.

Proper Footwear Necessary

Dress for all product training is casual, but leather shoes are required.  Ariel does not allow open toe (or open back) type shoes, such as sandals. Canvas shoes and athletic-type shoes are also not permitted on our premises. Students attending the Compressor Mechanics School, the Rotary Mechanics School, and the Spanish Compressor Mechanics School are required to provide steel-toe shoes or boots. Ariel Corporation will provide safety glasses and hearing protection that students may be required to wear during shop tours.

Compressor Mechanics School Guidelines

Students planning to attend this course are required to have previous Ariel product training, which includes attendance at either the Basic Product Training course, the Field Basic course, or the Technical School. Students who have not attended the Basic, Field Basic or Technical course can choose to take the Ariel Pre-Requisite Test. A test score of at 80% accuracy is necessary and once a student meets this qualification, they can submit a registration for the Compressor Mechanics School.  To request a copy of the pre-requisite test, contact: Connie Clark, Training Center: cclark@arielcorp.com or telephone: 740.397.0311, ext. 1416; En Espanól, contact José Gonzalez: jgonzalez@arielcorp.com Note: The prerequisite test is offered to a potential student one time. Should a score less than 80% is achieved, the student will be required to attend the Basic Product Training course (or Field Basic Product Training course) before attending the Compressor Mechanics School.

Lunch!

Ariel will provide a lunch each full day of training to students and instructors at no charge. If you have a special diet (such as diabetic, or any food allergies, or vegetarian), please note this information in the text box on the registration form. We will be happy to accommodate your needs. Ariel will host a dinner on the first night of class for all students and instructors. If your spouse is traveling with you, we invite them to also join us!

Training Materials - Shipping

Students who wish to mail their training manuals by FedEx, UPS or DHL can do so and eliminate additional luggage and security checks at the airport. To participate in this service, students will need their company's shipping account number. Ariel will provide boxes and labels for students to pack their shipment, include their shipping account number and send to a physical address (no Post Office Box addresses are accepted). International students will also be required to complete a checklist for "Customs Invoice." Couriers with daily schedules at our docks include: DHL, UPS and FedEx.
