Pipeline Transmission

Pipeline Transmission is where natural gas is efficiently and effectively transported through complex network of pipelines, from its origin to areas of high natural gas demand, with the use of compressors. Pipelines can be characterized as interstate and intrastate pipelines. Interstate pipelines carry natural gas across state boundaries and, in some cases, across the country. Gas closer to its origin is transported through Intrastate pipelines within a particular state. Natural gas is pressurized to travel through the pipelines and it is essential to have compressor stations along the pipeline at some intervals, to ensure the natural gas flowing though any one pipeline remains pressurized. The natural gas enters the compressor station, where it is compressed to a higher pressure and transmitted to another station along the way.
